fairwell the translation - R.I.P. Tater
Hey everybody,
As most of you know, the translation is no longer. They didnt exactly go out in a normal way but then again, what is normal when it comes to breaking up as a band? I'm sure most you were aware that last sunday's metro show was Mike's last show. This decision was not exactly a shock but it was definitely a surprise to me, if not everyone. At this point the status of the band was indefinite and now that status has been decided. Chad decided that he was ready to move on to other things after playing the metro show. Tater, now known just as Scott, decided that it was just not feasible for him to be in the band anymore either. This leaves Dave and Scott as the last remaining members of the band. Scott was trying to work things out and keep everything together but as of last night he has announced that the metro show was also his last show. Now, Dave had originally stated that he would remain in the band until all others were calling it quits so I would go ahead and say that he is done as well. Unfortunately, there is a lot that goes on within a band that nobody ever sees which ultimately was the demise of this band. The guys would like to thank each and every one of you guys that came out to a show, bought a shirt or a CD or just downloaded the music and enjoyed it. It was a nice run but it must come to an end. The most important thing for everyone to understand is that this is not the end. Scott, formerly known as tater, has already been demoing new songs for whatever reason so keep an eye on him. The other Scott has been demoing songs as well so watch out for him too. Mike has vowed to somehow remain in the music industry even if it only means going to shows and drinking beer (I made up the last part about Mike). Dave has another band that he has been working on throughout his career in the translation but I'd be lying if I told you that I actually knew their name. And Chad is kicking ass as a contributing member of society, something that most musicians tend to forget to do somewhere along the line.
You may be wondering why I am doing this news update. Well, I own this website. I own this domain. I pay for the server space in which this website resides. Plus, I wanted to clear up how everything went down in case you were confused. However, I'm fairly certain that nobody will even read this before I take the website down. If anyone out there would like to purchase the translationmusic.net domain name then send me an email at jlundstrom1@gmail.com.
So with all that said, I know i had a blast with these guys over the past almost 2 years and I will miss going on the road with them and such. The good news is that we are all still friends so stop by Scott's, formerly known as tater, apartment in Lincoln Park. Chances are that we will be there hanging out with the big screen and drinks.
Oh yeah, and go buy some merch so Mike doesn't lose a bunch of money. There are plenty of shirts available still. Click on the store link off to the right.
Later guys
Jeff the dude

This is right. We are playing Warped Tour in Chicago this year! This is exciting news. We will be on the Ernie Ball stage playing with such bands as Zebrahead, Cartel and our friends Treaty of Paris and the Dog and Everything. Tickets are a lot. I know. But if you were on the fence about going you should go! And if you are going you should come to the Ernie Ball stage and hang with us. It will be a good time as we will be debuting new music, new merch, and new hair.
Also if you are into that kinda thing, we are playing a show with the Junior Varisty next week in Palatine! Should be a good time! Doublew00t!

THE NEW SITE IS UPON US!!!
So as you can see this is a brand new website that I have been working on for the past couple weeks on and off. With the new website comes a news update for all you people out there in internet land. I am currently listening to the new Red Hot Chili Peppers CD and I highly recommend that all of you, every single one of you, go out and buy this CD right now. Well, not right now, you can finish reading this news update first. And while we are on the topic of buying CD's you can also head right over to the right of where you are reading this and click on the link to the store. You can purchase the brand new EP by the name of "Tomorrow, The Beginning, The Goodbye" and/or buy a shirt. Or you can catch a show in the very new future and buy one there as well. The choice is yours. All I know is that the CD is pretty ridiculously awesome.
Next on the agenda is a little contest through myspace. It's called The John Tucker Must Die Contest. Basically, John Tucker Must Die is the name of a movie that is coming out soon and they decided to tap a fairly untapped resource that is unsigned bands for the soundtrack. About 4000 bands entered this contest and they recently narrowed it down to 20. Well, guess who made that top 20. If you guessed The Translation then you would be correct. Now we are waiting to find out who made the top 10. Voting just ended last night. Not only will "Courage Down" be on the soundtrack but there is also $10,000 to be won as well as a Gibson guitar given to the final 10 bands. This is huge guys....HUGE!
Now, back to the site. There is a link to a pop-up media player off to the right as well. It currently has the entire 6 song EP on it available for your listening pleasure. These will all be there for a limited time only so go listen now. The music section also has lyrics to all of the songs so you should check those out. There are promo pictures as well as some live pictures in the photos section which will clearly melt your face. And finally, the extras section has some sweet banners for your myspace page, some buddy icons for your favorite chat program and even some wallpaper for your computer. Oh yeah, and don't forget to check the tour date section to see if we are playing a show near you.

Tomorrow, The Beginning, The Goodbye
Hey everyone. Scott here with his first news update in many weeks. Thanks for being patient with us as we firm up all the details surrounding our new record ‘Tomorrow, the Beginning, The Goodbye’. The final mixes are completed and we couldn’t be happier with the production on the CD. Many kudos to Dan Dusyzinki of the band This Is Me Smiling for the awesome job of production. Our CD release show will be on April 9th, 2006 at North Beach in Downers Grove. We will be playing with Logan Square (Fearless records) and more. The show is all ages, and we really want all of you to be there. We do have some more shows coming up in March, April and May so keep tuned for that. I will be making another update as the CD release comes closer with track listings and sound clips. I can tell you this. Get ready for a big 2006.
